Recruitment of Assistant Engineers on Contract Basis

RailTel Corporation of India Ltd., a Mini Ratna (Category-I) PSU of the Ministry of Railways, invites applications from qualified, young and energetic Indian nationals for the posts of Assistant Engineers (on contract basis) for implementation of National Optic Fiber Network (NOFN) project covering Gujrat area as per details given below:
1. Nomenclature of the posts and number of vacancies
Assistant Engineer (On Contract Basis) - 11 Vacancies
Note 1: Number of posts shown above are tentative and may change depending upon the project requirements. Applicants finally empanelled after the due process of selection, will be inducted as per actual requirement and progress of the project from time to time.
Note 2: Rules of reservation of posts for reserved community candidates would be applied as per govt. instructions of application of the scheme of reservation in work charged posts.
2. Qualification & Experience (mandatory)
Diploma (3 years course) in Electronics; or Telecommunication/Communication; or Electrical; or Electrical & Electronics; or Electronics & Telecommunication/ Communication; or Electronics & Instrumentation; or Information Technology; or Computer Science with minimum 55% marks, with minimum 3 (three) year experience in the field of execution of Optical Fiber Cable or other telecom Infrastructure Projects and/or operation and maintenance of Optical Fiber Cable/equipment/network or other telecom infrastructure.
MCA/BE/B.Tech/B.Sc.(Engineering) in Electronics; or Telecommunication/ Communication; or Electrical; or Electrical & Electronics; or Electronics & Telecommunication/communications; or Electronics & Instrumentation; or Information Technology; or Computer Science with minimum 55% marks, with minimum 1 (one) year experience in the field of execution of Optical Fiber Cable or other telecom Infrastructure Projects and/or operation and maintenance of Optical Fiber Cable/ equipment/ network or other telecom infrastructure.
Qualification mentioned above should be through whole time regular mode and should be approved/ recognized by the statutory body (AIU/UGC/AICTE etc.)
3. Medical Standards:
Selected applicants will be required to pass the requisite medical fitness tests/standards, as adopted by RailTel, before their appointment.
4. Duration of contract:
The contract will be initially for a period of three years, extendable further till completion of the project, depending on the job requirement and performance of the employee.
Monthly remuneration of Rs.20000/- + EPF (employer’s contribution).
(Deduction on account EPF (employees’ contribution) under EPF and MP Act,
1952, will, however, be made on the specified minimum wages under Minimum
Wages Act of the concerned state).
Annual increment at the rate of Rs. 1,400/- will be admissible for the first 3 years. In addition, following allowances/compensatory allowances will be admissible.

Applicant should note that the job requires to travel extensively within the assigned area, preferably on a two wheeler (Motor Cycle), in performance of day-to-day field duties. For this purpose, candidates will be required to arrange two wheelers/transport at their own expenses.
6. Selection procedure:
The selection will be made through written test and /or interview of short-listed applicants at a place to be decided by RailTel.
7. Examination / application processing fee:
Rs. 200/- (Rs.100/- for SC/ST) through bank draft drawn in favour of RailTel Corporation of India Limited payable at New Delhi. Applicant should write his name and vacancy notice number on the back side of demand draft. Application not accompanied by the proper demand draft will be summarily rejected. Application fee once received in RailTel will not be returned under any circumstances.
8. How to apply:
Applicants fulfilling the eligibility criteria and willing to be considered for the post should submit an application typed on A-4 size paper in the proforma given at Annexure-I.
I. The following should be superscribed on the left-hand side upper corner of the envelope containing the application:

II. The application in the prescribed format, complete in all respects, along with self attested photograph, appropriate demand draft and self-attested photocopies of the following documents should be sent to DGM (P&A), RailTel Corporation of India, Building no. 143, Sector-44, Gurgaon-122003 so as to reach on or before
31-08-2016 (18:00 hrs.):
a) Matriculation Certificate (for age proof).
b) Certificates and all mark-sheets in support of the required technical qualification.
c) Certificates and all mark-sheets in support of higher technical/professional qualifications, if any.
d) Certificates in proof of experience, clearly indicating the length and field of experience. (If an experience certificate is not available in case of any previous employer, the copies of offer of appointment alongwith first and last pay-slips shall be acceptable to ascertain the length of experience under that employer).
e) Caste certificate (In case applicant belongs to SC/ ST/ OBC(non-creamy layer).
f) Copy of the appointment letter in support of appointment to the post in the organization in which currently working along with valid Identity card/current pay slip issued by the company.
g) Photo I.D. proof and address proof (Passport/Aadhar card/Driving License/PAN
card/ Voter I. Card) issued by Central/State Govt.
h) A detailed bio-data complete with details of experience.
i) Valid demand draft of the value indicated in this vacancy notice
F IMPORTANT NOTES:
(A) One envelope should contain only one application.
(B) Applications not conforming to the prescribed format or incomplete in any respect or without self-attestation, demand draft of appropriate value or clear photo copies of certificates/testimonials listed above shall be summarily rejected. The responsibility of establishing the eligibility for the post without any doubt shall be that of applicant by way of attaching sufficient documents. The process of scrutiny of application/documents does not involve contacting applicant or collection of additional document from applicant at any stage.
(C) In case information furnished in the application format or the certificates/testimonials are found to be false or incorrect, candidature of such applicants is liable to be cancelled at any stage of the selection or thereafter, besides such other penal action as deemed fit.
(D) The applicants working in the Govt. departments / PSUs should note that these are short–tenure posts on contract and they are required to get their applications forwarded through proper channel or produce NOC at the time of selection. In the event of their selection, they are required to resign and get themselves relieved from their parent organization before taking up the contractual appointment in RailTel.
(E) These posts are for projects in Gujrat area and are not transferable outside the region.
(F) Applicants should clearly note that RailTel will in no case be responsible for non- receipt of their application or any postal delay in receipt thereof on any account whatsoever.
(G) The caste certificate in case of OBC (non-creamy layer) should be the one prescribed by the Department of Public Enterprises, Government of India, for services under the Government of India.
(H) The duration spent on summer trainings, apprenticeship or as trainees which may be mandatory for obtaining the qualifying degree / diploma shall not be counted towards mandatory experience mentioned in para 2 of this vacancy notice. Thus, only the experience gained after obtaining the requisite degree/ diploma will be taken into consideration.
